In the era of rapidly changing technologies, the car rental market in the USA has become highly competitive.
Additionally, there is a growing awareness of environmental issues, further fueling the need for rapid change. Now users are increasingly appreciating companies that not only provide high-quality services but also act in favor of the environment. This poses significant business challenges.
The US company specializing in car rental service turned to us with a request to develop a mobile application that would help them make their fleet management more efficient and optimize routes. The main goal was to attract clients who attach great importance to environmentally friendly services. In this regard, our client not only updated their fleet, switching to the use of electric and hybrid cars but also was looking for solutions that could help them become environmentally conscious and reduce the negative impact of their activities on the environment.

The objective of this project was to develop a user-friendly and easy-to-use application for the rental service of electric and hybrid cars. A significant feature was that the service is also aimed at travelers who are in flight on board an aircraft. Given limited times between arrivals and departures, the service should provide not only the fastest possible car hire, but also have a system for managing flight delays and changes, allowing users to easily adapt to a changing schedule.
We developed an intuitive interface with easy navigation, which simplifies users’ interaction with the application and makes the rental process as convenient and simple as possible. Users can easily create an account and log in to the app using their data or the voice recognition function. Available cars are displayed on the map and can be filtered by various criteria. In addition, the application provides detailed information about a car, including photos, technical specifications, and a description, so that users can familiarize themselves with a car in more detail before renting it. After completing a trip, you can evaluate the transport and the quality of services, leave your comments, and share this information on social networks. The built-in notification system informs about the rental status, the nearest charging stations and their availability, charge consumption, the time of return, etc. The app also shows information about the amount of carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to the use of electric vehicles. This helps users see what contribution they are making to reducing emissions by choosing a more environmentally friendly car.
If users have any questions or problems, they can contact the support service via chat, phone, or email. The implemented integration with the insurance system via the API, makes it possible to ensure clients’ safety and protection in an emergency. A user receives data about flights, changes, and delays via the integrated airline APIs.
A rental cost automatic calculation and invoice generation are carried out based on the selected parameters and time. To ensure users’ convenience, we developed a special payment system that includes voice recognition and various payment methods integration. The use of voice recognition also allows customers to authenticate safely, eliminating risks associated with fraud and unauthorized access to an account. Additional security measures, such as account blocking, can be activated if illegal or threatening actions are detected.
The combination of transparent transactions, multi-level security systems, and an intuitive interface significantly increased the security and convenience of the car rental process. These improvements were noticed by users and contributed to a significant 18% increase in the annual profit.
When environmental and sustainability issues become important for society and business, finding a balance between making a profit and taking care of the environment is becoming an increasingly difficult task. Compliance with laws and regulations that control the environmental responsibility of companies is mandatory for American companies, especially for those whose activities are related to transport and car hire.
The founder of the company was convinced that compliance with these standards is not only mandatory but also correct from the point of view of environmental conservation. For the company, environmental responsibility became not just a business task, but also their mission.

For the successful implementation of this project, we relied on the vast personal experience and expertise of the Aionys TeamLead team, as well as on previously implemented projects in this area. Full Stack Developers, React native developers, Quality Assurance Specialists and UI/UX Designer also joined the project. This choice of the team helped us solve the project tasks efficiently and quickly, relying on the knowledge and experience of each member, and to ensure the high quality and reliability of the final product.


To create the Front-End part of the application, we chose React Native, and for the Back-End we used Node.js. This allowed us to be flexible when creating a product, adapt to changing needs and gradually increase its functionality. Using the convenient PayPal payment system provided users with a reliable transaction process and online payment security. The integrated Google Maps service provided the functionality of displaying the locations of rented cars and creating optimal routes for navigation via geodata. For the voice recognition function, we used the Amazon Transcribe service, guaranteeing accurate recognition, and the machine learning method to improve the quality of recognition. This integration enhanced security by providing biometric authentication and simplified interface management via voice commands. Using the AWS cloud platform improved the performance, security, and efficiency of the application.
The Scrum method was chosen for this project because the work process transparency and quick adaptation to changing priorities were important for the client. We regularly held short daily meetings with the client, where we shared information about the current status of tasks and work progress, as well as identified problems. The main focus was on creating iterative work cycles to achieve quick results and gradually expand the overall functionality of the application. We focused on creating small but full-fledged parts of the application that were quickly completed and tested. This allowed us to get positive results in a short time and make sure that the product was developing in the right direction.
Aionys played a key role in the development of the car rental application. Our specialization in optimizing the proposed solutions and their further integration allowed us to achieve significant improvements in the performance and efficiency of the application, which, in its turn, led to users’ loyalty and profit growth. We also implemented innovative features such as voice recognition and additional security measures to make the process of using the application more reliable and attractive to users.

Our team developed a mobile application for the US car rental company taking into account a growing interest in environmental consciousness and innovative approaches. The application provides users with detailed information about available cars, their characteristics, and their location. A system of transparent transactions and a variety of payment options made the car rental process easy and convenient. Additionally, we implemented a voice recognition function that significantly improved users’ authentication process and increased the overall security level of the application. As a result, the company received a significant increase in its annual profit, and users appreciated the high level of reliability of the services provided. Our app became a key tool for the company's clients, giving them access to environmentally friendly cars and convenient rental methods.
